America’s Best Haunts was established to acknowledge the most superior haunted attractions in the United States. A survey conducted by The National Retail Federation showed that in excess of 24,000,000 Americans planned to attend a haunted house in 2012.. Up until now, there was not a specific place to identify where consumers could go to find superior haunted attractions.
Finally the media, sponsors and most importantly the general public have a place to go to access information about the attractions that best exemplify first class Halloween entertainment. A judging panel consisting of members with over 100 years of haunting experience searched the nation to find the very best. The few selected were awarded a place on this web site along with the honor to use the official seal signifying them as one of “America’s Best Haunts”.
Those haunts selected in 2012 were judged on safety, special effects, detail, marketing, value, fear factor, consumer appeal and longevity.
